Summary

Neither individual pages (dialogs), nor their sequence are static. The term "dynamic" implies plasticity and adaptivity and refers to both the dialogs and the website as a whole.

The dialogs are generated from scratch at each call.
User paths are established according to previous interactions.
The pages themselves are also generated according to previous interactions.

For expert systems, this means:

Answers at an early stage of the process influence questions at a later stage.
Questions that are irrelevant to the concrete situation of the user are masked.
User feed-back can automatically change the advisory process in the future.

For e-learning systems, plasticity and adaptivity lead to the following didactical features:

Problems can be individualized.
Problems that are repeated can be modified: results cannot simply be re-entered.
Test results can determine learning sequences or repetitions that follow.
Course feed-back can automatically influence course paths and dialog features for students in the future.
